My story

My story My name is Lucy and I have recently trained during lockdown to be a fully certificated Yoga Alliance yoga teacher, with a well known company based in Barcelona called YOGABODY™

Prior to being a yoga instructor, I was an experienced and highly regarded senior marketing, revenue and product development manager working within the leisure, travel and tourism industry, resulting in me being incredibly well travelled.

Towards the end of 2019, I was diagnosed with PTSD, severe anxiety and depression – which led to a breakdown, being unable to be in groups of people, having no confidence in myself or trusting others. In January, I attended a small yin class. I was beyond anxious about being around so many people, being out of the house and my ability to still do yoga (I had practiced for about 8 years). I slowly overcame my fears, realising how life changing yoga was, in helping me through panic attacks, with sleep, building up my confidence and forming a whole new appreciation for what is important in life.

My style of yoga is non spiritual, so you won’t find any chanting, reference to chakras or poses referred to in sanskrit. The goal is to enjoy your time exercising and holding relaxing stretches as well as work your body and mind as much as you want and need it on that particular day.

I’m very passionate about travel, and mental health awareness, and I hope that I can help others suffering make small steps to recovery through yoga practice.

If you are suffering from any mental health issues, and you’re looking to overcome these in a safe and understanding environment, or just want to develop your practice, then please contact me.
